NCAA Betting Prediction: Louisiana-Monroe at No 25 Texas A&M

Texas A&M Aggies seeks to extend its non-conference home winning streak to 67 games when the No. 25 Aggies face visiting Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.

Texas A&M forward Khris Middleton is expected to play for the first time since Nov. 9, when he suffered a knee injury in the Aggies’ season-opening win over Liberty.

A preseason All-Big 12 pick, Middleton averaged a team-high 14.4 points along with 5.2 rebounds last season.

When: 8:00 PM ET, Saturday, December 10, 2011
Where: Reed Arena, College Station, Texas

The Aggies have opened as 21-point favorites on SBG Global Sportsbook’s Live NCAA Basketball Odds.

Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (1-7): The Warhawks lost 73-71 to Louisiana Tech last Saturday when Marcelis Hansberry’s half-court shot fell short on the final possession. The game marked the season debut of 6-foot-7 center Steven McClellan, who originally decided to redshirt this season for personal reasons. He changed his mind last week and grabbed seven rebounds against Louisiana Tech. Guard Fred Brown has scored in double figures in seven straight games, and he ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring (15.8). The Warhawks, picked to finish sixth in the West Division of the Sun Belt, have lost at Ole Miss, Tennessee and Mississippi State.

Texas A&M Aggies (7-1): Ray Turner posted his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Elston Turner added 14 as Texas A&M beat Sam Houston State 64-37 on Wednesday for its fifth consecutive victory. The Aggies rank eighth nationally in scoring defense, and Middleton’s return should only make them stronger inside. Opponents are averaging 16.7 first-half points this year at Reed Arena and are being held to an average of 21.4 first-half points overall. Senior point guard Dash Harris leads the team in assists (35) and steals (nine). The Aggies won’t play again until Dec. 17, when they face No. 12 Florida.
