by Joe Rodriguez
Now is about the point in the season when Texas AM Aggies will start playing its final regular season games against Big 12 rivals, and that happens on Wednesday when sixth-ranked Baylor Bears travels to College Station.
The Aggies, set to depart for the SEC next season, have won three straight home games since falling to Iowa State on Jan. 7.
The Bears, off to the best start in program history, beat Texas A&M 61-52 in Waco on Jan. 2 in the conference opener for both teams.
With a win, Baylor would complete its second consecutive season sweep of the Aggies, who hold a 127-77 advantage in a series that dates back almost 100 years to the 1914-15 season.

Justbet Sportsbook currently have the Bears listed as 7½-point favorites versus the Aggies.
Baylor Bears (19-2): The Bears need another victory to keep pace with No. 4 Missouri for second place in the Big 12 and remain within striking distance of first-place Kansas, which has a home date with Oklahoma on Wednesday. Sophomore Perry Jones III — one of the most talented big men in the country — has started to assert himself lately, posting two straight double-doubles and averaging 21.5 points and 13 rebounds in victories over Oklahoma and Texas. Junior college transfer Pierre Jackson is becoming one of the Bears' most consistent offensive weapons, notching at least seven assists in seven straight contests.
Texas A&M Aggies (12-8): Since starting the Big 12 schedule 0-3, the Aggies have recovered by winning three of their past five games, but they're still lacking a resume-boosting victory. The best win on Texas A&M's schedule thus far is either against St. John's back in November or against Oklahoma on Jan. 21. At this point, the NCAA Tournament is looking like a longshot, but the Aggies — who were projected as the co-favorites with Kansas to win the conference — have a number of big-name opponents remaining, starting with the Bears. Junior guard Elston Turner is averaging 23.3 points over the past three games.
1. Texas A&M is 22-5 in conference play at Reed Arena since the 2008-09 season, including a 3-1 mark there this year.
2. Aggies forward Khris Middleton is expected to miss a third straight game with a knee injury, and point guard Dash Harris is day-to-day with an injured foot.
3. Baylor is 8-1 away from home this season after winning only 28 games away from home in the school’s first 11 seasons in the Big 12.
BASKETBALL PREDICTION: Bears 67, Aggies 65.
